Job Description

NatWest Group is looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer who will be responsible for maintaining and developing the mainframe systems and applications for the Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Additionally, you will need experience developing mainframe systems and applications, as well as experience using mainframe programming languages such as COBOL, CLIST, and JCL. Knowledge of advanced mainframe technologies such as CICS, DB2, and VSAM is also necessary.We’re looking for someone who is highly motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented. The successful candidate should have the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot mainframe systems and applications for the Group.
Utilize mainframe programming languages such as COBOL, CLIST, and JCL.
Implement advanced mainframe technologies such as CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
Monitor system performance and identify issues to ensure optimal system performance.
Work with other team members to identify and resolve system issues.
Write and maintain technical documentation.
Participate in the development of new systems and applications.
Research and develop new technologies to improve system performance.
Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and technologies.
Provide technical support to end users.
