Design and implement complex Unix systems to support the organization's critical infrastructure needs.
Continuously monitor and maintain the health, performance, and security of our Unix systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or incidents related to the Unix systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functioning of the Unix systems.
Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends to make recommendations for system improvements.
Proactively identify potential risks and provide solutions to mitigate them.
Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of infrastructure services.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members and end-users.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
Participate in on-call rotation and be available for emergency support.
Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
Collaborate with project teams to plan and implement new infrastructure initiatives.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with colleagues and customers.

Job Qualifications

Strong Understanding Of Unix Operating Systems: A Qualified Infrastructure Engineer For Unix At Natwest Group Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Unix-Based Operating Systems, Including Linux, Solaris, And Aix. This Includes Experience With Installation, Configuration, And Troubleshooting Of These Systems.
Experience With Scripting And Automation: Natwest Group Requires Its Infrastructure Engineers To Have Experience With Scripting Languages Such As Bash, Perl, Or Python. This Is Necessary To Automate Tasks And Streamline Processes, Increasing Efficiency And Reducing The Potential For Human Error.
Knowledge Of Networking And Security Protocols: As An Infrastructure Engineer For Unix, It Is Essential To Have A Solid Understanding Of Networking And Security Protocols Such As Tcp/Ip, Dns, Ssl, And Ssh. This Knowledge Is Critical For Maintaining A Secure And Stable Infrastructure.
Familiarity With Virtualization And Cloud Technologies: Natwest Group Is Continuously Investing In Virtualization And Cloud Technologies To Optimize Its Infrastructure. A Qualified Candidate Should Have Experience With Virtualization Platforms Such As Vmware And Cloud Platforms Like Aws Or Azure.
Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills: An Infrastructure Engineer At Natwest Group Should Possess Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills To Identify And Resolve Complex Issues Efficiently. This Includes The Ability To Troubleshoot And Provide Solutions To Hardware, Software, And Network Problems.
