
Veterinary Technician - Animal Resource Core
Assist during surgical, imaging and diagnostics procedures. Possess a basic understanding of injectable and inhalant anesthesia, airway maintenance, anesthetic monitoring and emergency intervention and pre and post-operative care. Provide and follow up on treatments as prescribed or delegated by veterinarian or senior veterinary technician. Provide weekend veterinary care on a rotational basis. Responsible for initiation and maintenance of animal clinical case records. Documentation should be accurate, timely, and complete. Help prepare the program for triennial AAALAC accreditation.
ALAT/LAT or RVT certification preferred.
Knowledgeable in federal animal welfare regulations and AAALAC accreditation standards.
Ability to administer vaccinations, phlebotomy, handle, dose, and obtain biologic samples from rats, mice and large animals.
