- Perform blood collection procedures with a high level of accuracy and precision.
- Assist in the development and implementation of phlebotomy protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff to ensure consistent and effective blood collection techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and answering any questions or concerns.
- Accurately label and record all collected samples to ensure traceability and prevent errors.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment, notifying management of any shortages or malfunctions.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of collected samples.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials and biohazard waste in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in phlebotomy techniques and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience during blood collection.
- Follow all quality control and quality assurance measures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and compliance regulations.
- Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
Minimum 5 Years Of Experience In Phlebotomy, With At Least 2 Years In A Senior Or Supervisory Role.
Certification From A Nationally Recognized Phlebotomy Program, Such As Ascp Or Nha.
Proficiency In Both Venipuncture And Capillary Blood Collection Techniques.
Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory And Safety Procedures, Including Proper Handling And Processing Of Blood Samples.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Patients, Colleagues, And Healthcare Professionals.
