Job Description

Natera is seeking a Manager of Genetic Counseling to join our dynamic and innovative team.   1. Oversee and manage a team of genetic counselors, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure high-quality services are delivered to patients.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the genetic counseling program.
  3. Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in genetic testing and counseling, and ensure that the team is trained and knowledgeable on these advancements.
  4. Collaborate with other departments, such as laboratory and marketing, to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to genetic counseling services.
  5. Conduct performance evaluations for genetic counselors and provide ongoing support and mentorship to help them grow and develop in their roles.
  6. Monitor and analyze data to track patient outcomes and identify areas for improvement in the genetic counseling program.
  7. Serve as a liaison between the genetic counseling team and other departments, as well as external stakeholders such as healthcare providers and insurance companies.
  8. Maintain compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to genetic counseling and patient privacy.
  9. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for genetic counseling services.
  10. Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting open communication, teamwork, and a commitment to patient care.
  11. Participate in educational initiatives and conferences to further develop knowledge and skills in genetic counseling and management.
  12. Act as a resource for patients and their families, providing support and education on genetic testing and counseling.
  13. Work closely with the sales and marketing team to promote and market genetic counseling services to healthcare providers and patients.
  14. Act as a role model for ethical and professional behavior, ensuring that all team members uphold the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Genetic Counseling: A Manager, Genetic Counseling At Natera Must Possess A Master's Degree In Genetic Counseling From An Accredited Program.

  • Board Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Be Board Certified In Genetic Counseling By The American Board Of Genetic Counseling (Abgc) Or The American Board Of Medical Genetics (Abmg).

  • Previous Managerial Experience: Natera Is Looking For A Candidate Who Has At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Managerial Role Within The Field Of Genetic Counseling. This Includes Experience In Leading And Mentoring A Team Of Genetic Counselors.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Genetic Testing: The Manager, Genetic Counseling Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Genetic Testing Methods And Technologies, As Well As A Keen Awareness Of The Latest Developments In The Field.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Manager, The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills In Order To Effectively Lead And Collaborate With Their Team, As Well As Effectively Communicate With Other Departments And Healthcare Professionals.
