  1. Conduct histology procedures and techniques with precision and attention to detail.
  2. Perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and coverslipping of samples.
  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, and stainers.
  4. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures and results.
  6. Adhere to strict quality control and quality assurance measures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during the testing process.
  8. Collaborate with other members of the research team to optimize procedures and improve efficiency.
  9. Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety regulations and protocols.
  10. Continuously stay updated on new developments and advancements in histology techniques and technologies.
  11. Train and mentor junior histotechnologists as needed.
  12. Participate in research projects and contribute to the development and validation of new tests.
  13. Maintain inventory and order necessary supplies for the histology laboratory.
  14. Communicate effectively with team members and provide regular updates on project progress.
  15. Uphold the company's values and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or Related Field: A Histotechnologist Ii At Natera Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field Such As Biology Or Biotechnology.

  • Relevant Work Experience: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Histology Laboratory, With A Focus On Molecular Techniques.

  • Ascp Certification: Natera Requires All Histotechnologists To Be Certified By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) As A Histotechnologist (Htl) Or Histotechnician (Ht).

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures: A Histotechnologist Ii At Natera Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Tissue Processing, Embedding, Microtomy, Staining, And Slide Preparation.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Histotechnologist Ii, Attention To Detail Is Crucial In Order To Accurately Perform And Document Laboratory Procedures And Results. This Includes Maintaining Accurate Records And Ensuring Quality Control Measures Are Met.
