The Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate UNIV-Research Study Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with cancer patients participating in research studies, providing vital support and guidance throughout their journey.   1. Provide therapy services to cancer patients participating in research studies.
  2. Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's individual needs.
  3. Conduct assessments to determine patients' emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  5. Educate patients and their families about coping strategies and resources available to them.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
  7. Continuously evaluate and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and research study protocols.
  8. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients throughout their cancer journey.
  9. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and treatment methods for cancer patients.
  10. Participate in regular team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.
  11. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient care.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and respect for patients' privacy.
  13. Collaborate with community resources to provide additional support for patients as needed.
  14. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
  15. Attend trainings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Job Qualifications
  • A Doctoral Degree In Psychology Or A Related Field, With A Specialization In Clinical Research And Experience In Working With Cancer Patients And Survivors.

  • Licensed Or Eligible For Licensure In The State Of South Carolina As A Therapist Or Counselor, With A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Providing Therapy To Diverse Populations.

  • Knowledge And Experience With Evidence-Based Therapies For Cancer Patients, Such As Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, And Supportive Therapy.

  • Strong Research Skills, Including Experience Developing And Implementing Research Protocols, Collecting And Analyzing Data, And Preparing Reports For Publication.

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals, Including Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers, And Other Therapists, To Provide Comprehensive Care To Patients And Support Ongoing Research Efforts.
