As an Equipment Operator, you will play a vital role in our recycling program by safely and efficiently operating equipment to collect and process recycling materials. We are seeking a dedicated individual with experience in recycling and operating heavy equipment.   1. Operate recycling equipment: Safely and efficiently operate recycling equipment such as balers, compactors, and shredders to collect and process recycling materials.
  2. Ensure compliance with safety regulations: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  3. Monitor equipment performance: Regularly monitor the performance of recycling equipment to identify any potential issues and address them in a timely manner.
  4. Maintain cleanliness of equipment: Keep recycling equipment clean and well-maintained to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
  5. Collect and process recycling materials: Collect and sort recycling materials from designated areas, and process them using appropriate equipment.
  6. Record-keeping: Maintain accurate records of recycling materials collected and processed, as well as equipment maintenance and repairs.
  7. Train and assist team members: Train and assist team members in operating recycling equipment, as needed.
  8. Follow eco-friendly practices: Adhere to eco-friendly practices and guidelines in all aspects of recycling operations, in line with MUSC Health's commitment to sustainability.
  9. Identify opportunities for improvement: Continuously evaluate recycling processes and equipment to identify opportunities for improvement and suggest solutions.
  10. Collaborate with team members: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient recycling operations.
  11. Communicate effectively: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate recycling operations and address any issues or concerns.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Basic Knowledge And Skills In Reading, Writing, And Math.

  • Prior Experience In Recycling: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In The Field Of Recycling. This Experience Should Include Operating Recycling Equipment, Sorting Recyclable Materials, And Knowledge Of Recycling Processes.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Protocols: As A Univ-Recycling-Equipment Operator Iii-Recycling, It Is Important To Have A Strong Understanding Of Safety Protocols And Regulations. This Includes Knowledge Of Safe Handling Of Materials, Operating Equipment Safely, And Proper Use Of Personal Protective Equipment.

  • Ability To Operate Heavy Machinery: This Position Requires The Ability To Operate Heavy Machinery Such As Balers, Shredders, And Compactors. Candidates Should Have Experience In Operating This Type Of Equipment And Possess A Valid Driver's License.

  • Physical Fitness: The Role Of A Univ-Recycling-Equipment Operator Iii-Recycling Can Be Physically Demanding. Candidates Should Be Able To Lift At Least 50 Pounds, Stand For Extended Periods, And Work In Various Weather Conditions. Physical Fitness And Stamina Are Important Qualifications For This Job.
