- Provide exceptional patient care through psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of child and adolescent patients.
- Collaborate with other members of the Psychiatry department to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct thorough assessments and create comprehensive treatment plans that address the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients.
- Stay current on advancements in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.
- Work closely with families and caregivers to provide support and education on mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on treatment plans and patient progress.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines in patient care and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Mentor and train medical students, residents, and fellows in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Participate in research initiatives and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Attend continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to promote mental health awareness and resources for children and adolescents.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Adhere to all departmental and institutional policies and procedures.
- Represent MUSC Health in a positive and professional manner in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
Medical Degree: The Candidate Must Possess A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.
Board Certification: The Candidate Must Be Board Certified Or Board Eligible In Psychiatry By The American Board Of Psychiatry And Neurology (Abpn). Additional Board Certification In Child And Adolescent Psychiatry Is Also Required.
Clinical Experience: The Candidate Must Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Clinical Experience In The Field Of Child And Adolescent Psychiatry. This May Include Residency Training, Fellowship Training, And/Or Previous Clinical Practice.
Research Experience: The Candidate Should Have A Demonstrated Interest And Experience In Conducting Research In The Field Of Child And Adolescent Psychiatry. This May Include Publications, Presentations, And/Or Grant Funding.
Licensure: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Medical License To Practice In The State Of South Carolina Or Be Eligible For Licensure. This May Require Passing The Usmle Or Comlex Exams And Completing The Necessary Paperwork For State Licensure.
