Job Description

Are you passionate about promoting health and wellness among the international community? MUSC Health is seeking a UNIV-Health and Wellness Ambassador for our ESL Wellness Center to empower and support our ESL community through education and outreach programs. We are looking for a dynamic and culturally competent individual who is fluent in both English and Spanish, and has a strong understanding of health and wellness topics. Join us in making a positive impact on the lives of our diverse population by becoming a UNIV-Health and Wellness Ambassador at MUSC Health.

  1. Develop and implement health and wellness education programs specifically targeted towards the ESL community at MUSC Health.
  2. Serve as a cultural liaison between MUSC Health and the ESL community, ensuring that all programs and materials are culturally sensitive and appropriate.
  3. Conduct outreach efforts to engage and educate the ESL community on health and wellness topics.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to coordinate and promote health and wellness events and initiatives.
  5. Serve as a resource for the ESL community, providing information and support on various health and wellness topics.
  6. Conduct needs assessments and gather feedback from the ESL community to inform program development and improvement.
  7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and wellness trends and issues within the ESL community.
  8. Communicate regularly with ESL community members and MUSC Health staff to promote health and wellness initiatives.
  9. Actively recruit and train volunteers from the ESL community to assist with health and wellness programs and events.
  10. Represent MUSC Health at community events and meetings related to health and wellness among the ESL population.
  11. Maintain accurate records and data related to program participation and impact.
  12. Collaborate with the marketing department to develop promotional materials and strategies to increase awareness of health and wellness programs among the ESL community.
  13. Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of health and wellness programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  14. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications

  • Fluency In English And At Least One Other Language: As An Esl Wellness Ambassador, Proficiency In Multiple Languages Is Essential For Effective Communication With A Diverse Patient Population.

  • Knowledge Of Health And Wellness Principles: A Strong Understanding Of Health And Wellness Topics, Such As Nutrition, Exercise, And Stress Management, Is Necessary To Educate And Support Patients In Making Positive Lifestyle Changes.

  • Experience Working With Diverse Populations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working With Individuals From Diverse Cultural Backgrounds And Be Sensitive To Their Unique Needs And Perspectives.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Univ-Health And Wellness Ambassador, The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Build Relationships With Patients, Colleagues, And Community Members Is Crucial.

  • Strong Organizational And Leadership Skills: The Job May Involve Coordinating And Leading Wellness Programs And Events, So Experience In Organizing And Managing Projects Is Highly Desirable.
