  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients' mental and emotional health.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' needs and goals.
  3. Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and other therapeutic interventions to patients.
  4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
  6. Participate in case conferences and treatment team meetings to discuss patient care and progress.
  7. Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in biobehavioral medicine and incorporate them into patient care.
  8. Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and sensitivity towards patients from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  9. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  10. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice in all clinical activities.
  11. Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
  12. Serve as a resource and consultant to other healthcare team members on mental health issues.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude and represent MUSC Health in a positive manner at all times.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care and a desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

Job Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree In Clinical Psychology: A Minimum Requirement For This Position Would Be A Doctoral Degree In Clinical Psychology From An Apa-Accredited Program. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Strong Foundation In Theoretical And Applied Knowledge Of Psychology.

  • Licensure As A Clinical Psychologist: Candidates Should Be Licensed Or Eligible For Licensure As A Clinical Psychologist In The State Of South Carolina. This Demonstrates That They Have Met The Necessary Requirements For Practice And Are Able To Provide Clinical Services.

  • Clinical Experience: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Clinical Practice, With Experience In Assessment, Diagnosis, And Treatment Of A Wide Range Of Psychological Disorders. This Could Include Experience Working With Diverse Patient Populations, Such As Children, Adolescents, Adults, And Older Adults.

  • Research Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Research Background, With A Record Of Publications And Grant Funding In The Field Of Biobehavioral Medicine. This Demonstrates Their Ability To Contribute To The Advancement Of Knowledge In This Area And Their Potential For Future Research Collaborations.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: The Candidate Should Have Experience Collaborating With Other Healthcare Professionals, Such As Psychiatrists, Physicians, And Social Workers. This Is Important For Providing Holistic And Integrated Care To Patients, And For Contributing To A Multidisciplinary Team Approach At Musc Health.
