  1. Conduct thorough patient evaluations to determine eligibility for transplant procedures.
  2. Assist in the coordination and management of transplant patients throughout the entire process, from pre-transplant evaluation to post-transplant care.
  3. Work closely with the transplant team, including physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals, to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  4. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work and imaging, to assess the health of transplant patients.
  5. Monitor and manage immunosuppressive therapy for transplant recipients to prevent organ rejection.
  6. Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the transplant team and other healthcare providers.
  7. Participate in educational activities, including conferences and seminars, to expand knowledge and skills in Transplant Nephrology.
  8. Contribute to research projects and clinical trials related to Transplant Nephrology.
  9. Stay up-to-date with advancements and developments in the field of Transplant Nephrology and implement best practices in patient care.
  10. Provide compassionate and empathetic support to patients and their families throughout the transplant process.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and accreditation standards.
  12. Mentor and supervise medical residents and students in Transplant Nephrology rotations.
  13. Collaborate with other departments and specialties to provide comprehensive care to transplant patients.
  14. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure ethical standards are upheld at all times.
  15. Contribute to the growth and success of the Transplant Nephrology program at MUSC Health.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Transplant Nephrology Fellow At Musc Health Must Have A Medical Degree From An Accredited Medical School. This Is A Basic Requirement For All Medical Professionals At The Institution.

  • Completed Residency In Nephrology: Applicants Must Have Completed A Residency Program In Nephrology And Be Board Eligible Or Certified In Nephrology By The American Board Of Internal Medicine (Abim).

  • Fellowship Training In Transplant Nephrology: Candidates Must Have Completed A Fellowship Training Program In Transplant Nephrology. This Will Ensure They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Specialized Care For Transplant Patients.

  • Strong Clinical Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Strong Clinical Skills, Including The Ability To Diagnose And Manage Complex Transplant-Related Complications. They Should Also Be Able To Perform Procedures Such As Kidney Biopsies And Catheter Placements.

  • Research Experience: Musc Health Values Research And Encourages Its Employees To Engage In Scholarly Activities. Therefore, Candidates For This Position Should Have Prior Research Experience And A Strong Interest In Pursuing Research In The Field Of Transplant Nephrology.
