- Respond promptly and effectively to all security incidents and emergencies, following established protocols and procedures.
- Conduct routine checks of equipment, systems, and facilities to identify and report any potential security risks or hazards.
- Utilize security protocols, including access control and surveillance systems, to prevent unauthorized access and maintain a secure environment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all security-related incidents, including written reports and statements.
- Collaborate with other security team members, as well as hospital staff and law enforcement, to address security concerns and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff, addressing any security-related questions or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Stay up-to-date with security policies, procedures, and regulations, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards at all times, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all interactions.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance security knowledge and skills.
Prior Experience In Law Enforcement Or Security: A Qualified Security Officer At Musc Health Should Have A Background In Law Enforcement Or Security, Either Through Previous Employment Or Training Programs. This Experience Will Provide The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Effectively Handle Security Situations In A Healthcare Setting.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Security Officer At Musc Health Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills In Order To Interact With Patients, Visitors, And Staff In A Professional Manner. This Includes The Ability To De-Escalate Potentially Volatile Situations And Effectively Convey Information To Others.
Knowledge Of Healthcare Security Protocols: Musc Health Is A Healthcare Facility, So A Qualified Security Officer Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Security Protocols Specific To This Setting. This Includes Knowledge Of Hipaa Regulations, Emergency Response Procedures, And Patient Confidentiality.
Physical Fitness And Agility: A Security Officer May Be Required To Respond To Emergency Situations Quickly And May Need To Physically Restrain Individuals If Necessary. Therefore, They Should Have A Certain Level Of Physical Fitness And Agility To Perform Their Duties Effectively.
