Registered Nurse - Dermatology

- Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients in the dermatology department.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' skin conditions and develop appropriate care plans.
- Implement evidence-based nursing interventions to promote positive patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on proper skin care techniques and disease management.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
- Document all patient interactions and interventions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Stay up-to-date on current practices and advancements in dermatology nursing.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment by displaying excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and ensure their needs are met.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Typically Required For A Registered Nurse Position At Musc Health, With A Specialization In Dermatology Preferred.
Valid Rn License: Candidates Must Possess A Valid Rn License From The State Of South Carolina Or Be Eligible For Licensure.
Dermatology Experience: Previous Experience In A Dermatology Setting Is Highly Preferred, With A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Preferred.
Knowledge Of Dermatology Treatments And Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Dermatological Conditions, Treatments, And Procedures, Including Wound Care, Skin Biopsies, And Skin Cancer Screenings.
Strong Communication And Patient Care Skills: Excellent Communication And Patient Care Skills Are Essential For This Position, As Registered Nurses Will Be Working Closely With Patients And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Fast-Paced Environment.
