Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse

MUSC Health is searching for an experienced Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse to join our caring team of healthcare professionals. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and be committed to providing a positive patient experience. We are looking for someone with a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina, and at least two years of experience as a PACU or similar role. In addition, this individual must be knowledgeable in the principles of anesthesia and post-surgical care, possess excellent organizational skills and demonstrate outstanding communication and teamwork skills. A strong commitment to patient safety and quality of care is paramount.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide exceptional patient care and maintain a positive patient experience.
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
3. Utilize knowledge of the principles of anesthesia and post-surgical care when providing patient care.
4. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
5. Monitor patient vital signs and assess their condition throughout post-surgical care.
6. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
7. Educate patients and their families regarding post-surgical care and recovery.
8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
9. Respond to patient and family inquiries regarding post-surgical care and recovery.
10. Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
