  1. Assist pharmacists in dispensing and preparing medications accurately and efficiently.
  2. Maintain a thorough understanding of pharmacy operations, including drug inventory, storage, and labeling.
  3. Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations related to pharmacy operations and medication management.
  4. Update and maintain patient records and medication profiles.
  5. Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely medication orders and delivery.
  6. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns regarding medications.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to prevent medication errors and promote patient safety.
  8. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes.
  9. Utilize pharmacy software and technology to accurately process prescriptions and maintain patient records.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on new medications, procedures, and regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Pharmacy Technician I At Musc Health Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (Cpht): Applicants Should Have A Valid Cpht Certification From An Accredited Organization Such As The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb).

  • Previous Pharmacy Experience: Prior Experience Working In A Pharmacy Setting, Such As A Retail Or Hospital Pharmacy, Is Preferred For This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Pharmaceutical Terminology And Medication Dosages: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And The Ability To Calculate And Measure Medication Dosages Accurately Is Essential For A Pharmacy Technician I At Musc Health.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Pharmacy Technician I, You Will Be Interacting With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Other Pharmacy Staff On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Necessary To Thrive In This Role.
