Pharmacy Technician - Emergency Room

MUSC Health is looking for a highly organized and dedicated individual to join our Pharmacy Technician team in the Emergency Room. The ideal candidate will have the necessary skills and qualifications to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be passionate about providing excellent customer service and be able to provide a high level of support to the Emergency Room Pharmacy Technician team.Qualifications:• High School Diploma or equivalent• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification• Minimum of 1 year working experience as a Pharmacy Technician• Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and pharmacy operations• Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced setting• Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent customer service skills• Ability to work collaboratively with staff members to ensure quality care• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health records, and pharmacy systems• Ability to handle confidential information and maintain patient privacy• Current state pharmacy technician license in good standing

Responsibilities: • Provide customer service and support to patients in the Emergency Room • Assist pharmacists in packaging, labeling, and distributing medications to patients • Follow safety protocols and maintain quality control standards • Utilize pharmacy systems to accurately fill prescriptions and process orders • Receive and process patient orders according to established procedures • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations • Resolve any customer service issues or complaints in a timely manner • Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as needed • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients and staff members • Follow all established policies and procedures related to the pharmacy • Assist in training new pharmacy technicians and providing support with any questions they may have
