  1. Conduct audits of pharmacy claims to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  2. Review and analyze pharmacy data to identify potential discrepancies or errors.
  3. Communicate audit findings to pharmacy staff and management.
  4. Collaborate with pharmacy team to develop and implement corrective actions.
  5. Maintain accurate and organized records of audit results and actions taken.
  6. Stay up-to-date on changes in pharmacy regulations and make necessary adjustments to audit processes.
  7. Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to pharmacy audits.
  8. Identify potential areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  9. Provide support and guidance to pharmacy staff on compliance-related issues.
  10. Participate in training and education programs to ensure understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  12. Serve as a liaison between pharmacy and auditing agencies.

Job Qualifications

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification: Candidates For The Pharmacy Auditor - Technician Position At Musc Health Should Have A Current And Valid Certification As A Pharmacy Technician From An Accredited Organization Such As The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).

  • Strong Knowledge Of Pharmacy Operations: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Pharmacy Operations, Including Medication Dispensing, Inventory Management, And Insurance Billing. Knowledge Of Medication Safety And Regulatory Compliance Is Also Important.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Pharmacy Auditor - Technician, It Is Essential To Have A Keen Eye For Detail And The Ability To Accurately Review And Analyze Pharmacy Records And Reports. This Position Requires Strong Organizational Skills And The Ability To Identify And Resolve Discrepancies.

  • Communication Skills: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal. This Role Involves Interacting With Various Healthcare Professionals, Including Pharmacists, Physicians, And Insurance Companies, So The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate Is Crucial.

  • Experience In Auditing: Previous Experience In Pharmacy Auditing Is Preferred For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Auditing Procedures And Be Able To Effectively Identify And Report Any Discrepancies In Pharmacy Records. Experience With Computerized Auditing Systems Is Also A Plus.
