  1. Operate and maintain advanced medical equipment to support the cardiovascular system during surgical procedures.
  2. Monitor and adjust heart and lung function, including blood flow, oxygen levels, and temperature, to ensure patient safety and optimize surgical outcomes.
  3. Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare team members to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  4. Provide clear communication and updates to the surgical team on the status of the patient's cardiovascular function.
  5. Assess and respond to changes in the patient's condition during surgery, making adjustments as necessary.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all procedures and patient information.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
  8. Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and techniques in perfusion technology.
  9. Provide guidance and support to Perfusionist assistants and other team members.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to enhance patient care.
  11. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
  12. Follow all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  13. Maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion towards patients and their families.
  14. Uphold the ethical standards of the profession and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  15. Act as a resource for the healthcare team, providing education and training on perfusion-related topics.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Perfusion Technology Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Certification As A Certified Clinical Perfusionist (Ccp) From The American Board Of Cardiovascular Perfusion.

  • Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience As A Perfusionist In A Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Cardiac And Pulmonary Physiology, As Well As Advanced Knowledge Of Perfusion Techniques And Equipment.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced, High-Stress Environment With A Strong Attention To Detail And Critical Thinking Skills.
