- Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric patients' hearing abilities using a variety of specialized tests and equipment.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for each patient based on their specific needs and goals.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as pediatricians and speech therapists, to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and techniques in pediatric audiology to ensure the highest level of care for patients.
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding hearing loss and treatment options.
- Administer and interpret diagnostic tests, including tympanometry and otoacoustic emissions, to assess the function of the middle and inner ear.
- Monitor and adjust hearing aids and other assistive devices as needed to optimize their effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with insurance companies to ensure proper coverage for patients' audiology services.
- Educate and train students and interns in pediatric audiology techniques and procedures.
- Participate in research and contribute to the advancement of the field of pediatric audiology.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Continuously assess and improve the quality of care provided to pediatric patients.
- Demonstrate compassionate and empathetic care towards patients and their families.
- Attend seminars, conferences, and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in pediatric audiology.
A Doctor Of Audiology (Au.d.) Degree From An Accredited University.
Certification By The American Board Of Audiology And/Or The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha).
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Pediatric Audiology, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.
Knowledge And Proficiency In Conducting A Variety Of Pediatric Audiological Evaluations, Including Behavioral And Objective Measures.
Ability To Work Well With Children And Their Families, And Strong Communication Skills To Educate And Counsel Parents On Hearing Loss And Treatment Options.
