  1. Manage patient accounts with accuracy and attention to detail.
  2. Process and submit insurance claims in a timely manner.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers to resolve billing inquiries and issues.
  4. Provide exceptional customer service to patients by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding their accounts.
  5. Utilize knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes to ensure proper reimbursement.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient information.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections.
  8. Keep up-to-date with changes in insurance policies and regulations to ensure compliance.
  9. Follow up on outstanding balances and work to resolve any discrepancies.
  10. Identify opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations to management.
  11. Maintain a positive and supportive work environment for team members.
  12. Attend trainings and meetings to stay updated on job-related skills and knowledge.
  13. Adhere to all MUSC Health policies and procedures.
  14. Meet productivity and quality standards set by the organization.
  15. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business, Or A Related Field.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Medical Billing And Coding.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Insurance Policies, Reimbursement Processes, And Billing Regulations.

  • Proficient In Using Electronic Health Record Systems And Billing Software.
