
Patient Access Representative
We are looking for an experienced Patient Access Representative to join the team at MUSC Health. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and a high level of professionalism, with the flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and will be responsible for ensuring a positive experience for each and every one of them. To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. You must also have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as a working knowledge of medical terminology. Additionally, experience with electronic medical records systems is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, ensuring a positive experience during each visit.
- Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner, answer any questions they may have, and help them with any inquiries related to their visit.
- Collect and input patient information into the electronic medical records system, including insurance information, medical history, and consent forms.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, and answer any questions regarding coverage, billing, and payments.
- Schedule patient appointments, and ensure that all necessary paperwork and documentation is in order.
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, and ensure that all patients are informed of their rights and responsibilities.
- Handle any complaints or issues that may arise, in a prompt and professional manner.
- Remain up-to-date on medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and any other relevant topics.
- Provide feedback to management regarding customer service issues, and suggest improvements where necessary.
