  1. Assist Occupational Therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients based on their individual needs and goals.
  2. Provide hands-on support and guidance to patients during therapy sessions, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  3. Monitor and document patient progress and communicate any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized therapy area, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
  6. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and exercises to promote independence and improve daily functioning.
  7. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care, including maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient rights.
  8. Keep up-to-date with current research and advancements in the field of occupational therapy.
  9. Attend team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans and strategies.
  10. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and build positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  11. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve own skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities.
  13. Follow all MUSC Health policies and procedures and represent the organization in a professional manner at all times.
  14. Provide exceptional customer service to create a positive and welcoming environment for patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Completion Of An Accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant Program, With A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree.

  • Certification As An Occupational Therapist Assistant By The National Board For Certification In Occupational Therapy (Nbcot).

  • Current State Licensure As An Occupational Therapist Assistant.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As An Occupational Therapist Assistant In A Healthcare Setting.
