- Conduct thorough and accurate patient assessments, including taking medical histories, measuring visual acuity, and performing diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Assist ophthalmologists in patient care, including preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment, and providing support during surgeries and procedures.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and treatment plans, including medication administration and follow-up care.
- Maintain detailed and organized patient records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless communication.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients, maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor at all times.
- Stay up-to-date on current ophthalmology practices and procedures, attending trainings and workshops as necessary.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and verifying insurance information.

Certified Or Non-Certified: The First Qualification For A Musc Health Muscp - Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Or Certified (Coa) Or Non-Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Ncoa) Job Is The Appropriate Certification Or Non-Certification From A Recognized Ophthalmic Technician Program.
Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Ophthalmology Or Optometry Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinic Setting.
Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Equipment: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Ophthalmic Equipment And Their Proper Use, Maintenance, And Calibration.
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For This Role As The Candidate Will Be Required To Interact With Patients, Doctors, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
