- Greet and welcome patients and families to the Pediatric Clinic with a warm and friendly demeanor.
- Assist with patient check-in and registration process, verifying insurance information and collecting necessary paperwork.
- Schedule appointments and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical records system.
- Communicate with patients and their families to provide necessary information and answer any questions or concerns.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy are maintained at all times according to HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare exam rooms and stock necessary supplies for patient visits.
- Assist physicians with patient care by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and assisting with procedures.
- Coordinate with other healthcare providers and specialists to ensure a continuum of care for patients.
- Manage incoming and outgoing calls, voicemails, and emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Process insurance claims and assist with billing and payment inquiries.
- Maintain a clean and organized office environment, including waiting room and exam rooms.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in training and development opportunities to stay updated on clinic policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other team members to identify and implement process improvements for better patient care and office efficiency.
- Handle any other administrative tasks as assigned by the clinic manager or physicians.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Candidate For A Medical Office Assistant Position At A Pediatric Clinic At Musc Health Must Possess A High School Diploma Or Its Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Is Able To Communicate Effectively.
Medical Office Assistant Certification: Candidates Should Have A Certification In Medical Office Assistance From An Accredited Institution. This Certification Demonstrates Their Knowledge And Skills In Medical Terminology, Office Procedures, And Patient Care.
