
Inpatient Pharmacy (Technician) Buyer

- Manage and maintain inventory levels for all medications and supplies in the inpatient pharmacy.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders for needed medications and supplies in a timely manner.
- Work closely with pharmacy staff and other departments to ensure accurate and efficient inventory management.
- Review and process purchase orders, invoices, and other related documents.
- Negotiate with vendors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and products.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, purchases, and expenses.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to identify and resolve any inventory-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to pharmaceutical purchasing and inventory management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance inventory management processes.
- Train and mentor new pharmacy staff on inventory management and purchasing procedures.
- Continuously monitor and analyze inventory data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
- Communicate any supply shortages or backorders to the appropriate parties and provide alternative solutions when possible.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency in the purchasing process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the pharmacy storeroom and medication storage areas.
Pharmacy Technician Certification: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification From A Recognized Institution. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Duties Of An Inpatient Pharmacy Buyer.
Experience In Pharmaceutical Purchasing: The Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Pharmaceutical Purchasing, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting. This Experience Will Demonstrate Their Knowledge Of Purchasing Processes, Inventory Management, And Vendor Relations.
Knowledge Of Medications And Medical Supplies: The Inpatient Pharmacy Buyer Will Be Responsible For Purchasing A Wide Range Of Medications And Medical Supplies For The Hospital. Therefore, They Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medication Names, Dosage Forms, And Medical Supplies Used In A Hospital Setting.
Attention To Detail: As An Inpatient Pharmacy Buyer, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Maintaining Accurate And Organized Records Of All Purchases, Invoices, And Inventory Levels. They Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Information Is Accurate And Up-To-Date.
Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills: The Inpatient Pharmacy Buyer Will Work Closely With Suppliers And Internal Stakeholders, Such As Pharmacists And Physicians. Therefore, Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills Are Essential To Ensure Efficient And Cost-Effective Purchasing Processes.
