
Hospice Chaplain - PRN

We are currently seeking a Hospice Chaplain to join our team on a PRN (as needed) basis. As a Hospice Chaplain, you will have the opportunity to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and their loved ones during their end-of-life journey. We are looking for a compassionate and empathetic individual with a strong understanding of hospice care and the ability to provide spiritual guidance to patients of all faiths. - Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families during their end-of-life journey.
- Conduct spiritual assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients.
- Offer prayer, counseling, and spiritual guidance to patients of all faiths.
- Assist patients and families in finding peace and comfort during the dying process.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care for patients.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect patients' beliefs and values.
- Conduct regular visits to patients in hospice care to provide spiritual support.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and participate in care planning discussions.
- Provide bereavement support to families and loved ones.
- Document all interactions with patients and families accurately and timely.
- Stay updated on current hospice care practices and attend professional development opportunities.
- Serve as a spiritual resource for staff members and provide support to them as needed.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in the provision of spiritual care.
- Maintain a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families.
- Uphold the mission and values of MUSC Health in all aspects of the job.
Master's Degree In Divinity, Theology, Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Ordination Or Endorsement By A Recognized Religious Organization.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Providing Spiritual Care To Patients And Families In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Hospice Care.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Various Religious And Spiritual Practices, As Well As Cultural Diversity.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Provide Emotional Support And Guidance To Patients And Families During End-Of-Life Care.
