- Provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Conduct thorough medical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and document all patient interactions according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and therapists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Stay current on the latest developments and advancements in family medicine by attending conferences, seminars, and continuing education programs.
- Show empathy and compassion towards patients and their families, and maintain a patient-centered approach in all interactions.
- Educate patients on preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices to promote overall wellness.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of medical practice and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.

Medical Degree: A Family Medicine Physician At Musc Health Columbia Medical Center Northeast Must Have A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.
Residency Training: The Candidate Must Have Completed An Accredited Residency Program In Family Medicine, Which Typically Lasts For Three Years. This Training Provides Them With The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Diagnose And Treat A Wide Range Of Medical Conditions.
Board Certification: Musc Health Requires That All Family Medicine Physicians Hold Board Certification From The American Board Of Family Medicine (Abfm) Or The American Osteopathic Board Of Family Physicians (Aobfp). This Certification Ensures That The Physician Has Met The Highest Standards Of Knowledge, Experience, And Skills In Family Medicine.
State Medical License: All Physicians Working At Musc Health Must Hold A Valid And Unrestricted Medical License In The State Of South Carolina. This License Is Obtained By Passing The United States Medical Licensing Examination (Usmle) Or The Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (Comlex).
Clinical Experience: Musc Health Seeks Experienced Family Medicine Physicians With A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Clinical Experience. This Experience Allows The Physician To Develop A Strong Understanding Of Patient Care And Build Effective Communication And Decision-Making Skills.
