- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the grants and research department in alignment with the overall goals and mission of MUSC Health.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the grants and research portfolio, including proposal development, submission, and post-award management.
- Build and maintain relationships with external funding agencies, partners, and collaborators to secure new funding opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.
- Provide leadership and direction to the grants and research team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines for grants and research, including ethical standards and institutional policies.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of grants and research projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to ensure successful outcomes.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership and funding agencies on the progress, impact, and outcomes of grants and research initiatives.
- Develop and manage the grants and research department budget, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Stay informed about current trends and developments in the healthcare and research fields, and make recommendations for incorporating new strategies and technologies into our work.
- Serve as a representative and spokesperson for the grants and research department, promoting its achievements and impact within the organization and to external stakeholders.
Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field: A Successful Candidate For The Executive Director Of Grants And Research Position At Musc Health Should Possess At Least A Master's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Or Business Administration.
Extensive Experience In Grant Writing And Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience In Grant Writing And Management, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Academic Setting. They Should Also Have A Proven Track Record Of Securing Large Grants And Managing The Entire Grant Process.
Strong Knowledge Of Research Methodology And Regulations: The Executive Director Of Grants And Research Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Research Methodology And Regulations, Including Irb Requirements And Ethical Considerations. This Knowledge Is Essential For Overseeing And Ensuring Compliance With All Research Activities At Musc Health.
