Job Description

As an Endodontist Dental Assistant, you will work closely with our Endodontist to provide high-quality endodontic treatments and procedures to our patients.   1. Assist the Endodontist in performing endodontic procedures and treatments, including root canals, apicoectomies, and retreatments.
  2. Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready for use.
  3. Greet and welcome patients to the practice, making them feel comfortable and at ease.
  4. Take and record accurate patient medical histories and treatment information.
  5. Provide chairside assistance to the Endodontist during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring efficient workflow.
  6. Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the Endodontist.
  7. Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
  8. Maintain and update patient records, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  9. Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient recall systems.
  10. Educate patients on treatment options and answer any questions they may have.
  11. Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control protocols and OSHA regulations.
  13. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on new techniques and procedures.
  14. Collaborate with other dental professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  15. Display a positive and professional attitude at all times, reflecting the values and mission of MUSC Health.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Dental Assistant - The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Valid Certification As A Dental Assistant From An Accredited Program.

  • Knowledge Of Endodontic Procedures - Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Endodontic Procedures Such As Root Canal Therapy, Apexification, And Apicoectomy.

  • Experience In A Dental Setting - Previous Experience Working As A Dental Assistant In A Clinic Or Hospital Setting, With Specific Experience In Endodontics, Is Preferred.

  • Excellent Communication Skills - The Job Requires Working Closely With Patients And The Endodontist, So Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Essential.

  • Attention To Detail - An Endodontist Dental Assistant Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have A Keen Eye For Identifying Potential Issues During Procedures And Ensuring The Proper Instruments And Materials Are Used.
