
Emergency Management Manager
MUSC Health is seeking an experienced, organized Emergency Management Manager to lead our emergency preparedness efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing emergency plans, policies, and procedures to protect the hospital’s personnel, patients, and property. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in emergency preparedness, the ability to think analytically, and a personal commitment to safety.The successful candidate should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, or a related field and at least five years of relevant experience. A background in healthcare is preferred. Additional qualifications include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders, and the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented leader who is passionate about emergency preparedness and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and execute emergency plans, policies, and procedures to protect the hospital’s personnel, patients, and property.
- Analyze potential risks, propose solutions, and develop preparedness strategies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and state emergency management agencies.
- Monitor and evaluate emergency preparedness plans and procedures.
- Develop and lead emergency preparedness trainings and drills for hospital personnel.
- Monitor and respond to potential threats and disasters.
- Analyze potential risks, propose solutions, and develop preparedness strategies.
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain and update emergency management records.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and state emergency management agencies.
- Serve as a liaison between the hospital and government entities.
- Monitor and evaluate emergency preparedness plans and procedures.
- Develop and lead emergency preparedness trainings and drills for hospital personnel.
