- Assist healthcare professionals in providing emergency care to patients by taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and performing basic medical procedures.
- Monitor and record patient intake and output, as well as any changes in their condition.
- Prepare and maintain patient rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely information.
- Participate in emergency response teams and assist in emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including documenting procedures and treatments performed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans for patients.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families during stressful situations.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay up-to-date with current healthcare practices and regulations.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new emergency department technicians.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Assist with stocking and maintaining inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the emergency department manager.
Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Basic Patient Care Procedures.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience As An Emergency Department Technician In A Hospital Setting.
Completion Of An Accredited Emergency Medical Technician (Emt) Program.
