  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Division of Nephrology, ensuring alignment with the overall goals and mission of MUSC Health.
  • Oversee all clinical operations within the division, including patient care, quality improvement, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of physicians and researchers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Develop and implement educational programs and initiatives for medical students, residents, and fellows in the field of nephrology.
  • Drive and support research efforts within the division, promoting the advancement of knowledge and treatment options for kidney disease.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including patients, families, staff, and external partners, to enhance the reputation and impact of the division.
  • Monitor and manage division budgets, resources, and expenditures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments in nephrology, and incorporate best practices and innovative strategies into divisional operations.
  • Represent the division and MUSC Health at conferences, meetings, and other events to promote the organization's expertise and achievements in nephrology.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Director Of The Division Of Nephrology At Musc Health Should Possess A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution, With A Specialization In Nephrology.

  • Board Certification: Candidates Should Be Board Certified In Nephrology By The American Board Of Internal Medicine (Abim) Or Equivalent Certification From An Accredited Organization.

  • Extensive Clinical Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Clinical Experience In Nephrology, With A Proven Track Record Of Excellence In Patient Care.

  • Leadership Skills: As A Director, The Individual Must Possess Strong Leadership Skills And Have Experience In Managing A Team Of Physicians, Nurses, And Support Staff. They Should Also Have Experience In Developing And Implementing Clinical Protocols And Guidelines.

  • Research And Academic Credentials: The Director Should Have A Strong Background In Research And A Track Record Of Publications In Peer-Reviewed Journals. They Should Also Have Experience In Teaching And Mentoring Medical Students, Residents, And Fellows.
