
Director of Patient Flow

- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient flow and reduce wait times throughout the healthcare system.
- Oversee and manage a team of staff responsible for coordinating patient movement and flow.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify and address bottlenecks in patient flow processes.
- Monitor and analyze data related to patient flow, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines related to patient flow and safety.
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient flow issues and develop action plans.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the patient flow team.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as EMS agencies, to optimize patient flow.
- Establish and maintain performance metrics and regularly report on progress to senior leadership.
- Conduct regular training and education sessions for staff to ensure understanding and adherence to patient flow processes.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to patient flow and implement new strategies as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between the patient flow team and other departments to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
- Make recommendations for staffing and resource allocation to support efficient patient flow.
- Provide guidance and support to resolve any patient flow issues or concerns that arise.
- Continuously evaluate and improve patient flow processes to enhance the overall patient experience.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Healthcare Administration Or Operations, Preferably In A Large Hospital Or Academic Medical Center Setting.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.
Strong Understanding Of Hospital Operations And Patient Flow Processes, Including Experience With Bed Management, Discharge Planning, And Patient Throughput.
Excellent Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Multidisciplinary Teams And Manage And Motivate Staff.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements And Industry Best Practices Related To Patient Flow, As Well As Experience Implementing Process Improvement Initiatives To Optimize Patient Flow And Enhance Patient Experience.
