- Provide specialized medical care to critically ill and injured infants, children, and adolescents.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, lab results, and imaging studies.
- Administer and adjust medications, therapies, and treatments as needed.
- Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as necessary.
- Communicate with patients and their families to explain diagnoses, treatments, and prognosis.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families during their hospital stay.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and progress in medical records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care.
- Stay current with advances in pediatric critical care through continuing education and professional development.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to pediatric critical care.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for other healthcare professionals, including residents and medical students.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings, conferences, and committees as required.
Board Certification In Pediatric Critical Care Medicine: The Candidate Must Be Board Certified In Pediatric Critical Care Medicine By The American Board Of Pediatrics Or Equivalent Certification.
Medical Degree From An Accredited School: The Candidate Must Have A Medical Degree From An Accredited Medical School And Have Completed A Residency In Pediatrics.
Fellowship In Pediatric Critical Care: The Candidate Must Have Completed A Fellowship In Pediatric Critical Care Medicine From An Accredited Institution.
Experience In A Level I Pediatric Trauma Center: Musc Health Is A Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Therefore The Candidate Should Have Experience Working In A Similar Setting.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With A Multidisciplinary Team And Communicate With Patients And Their Families.
