As a critical care pediatrician, you will play a vital role in providing specialized medical care to critically ill and injured infants, children, and adolescents.   1. Provide specialized medical care to critically ill and injured infants, children, and adolescents.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, lab results, and imaging studies.
  4. Administer and adjust medications, therapies, and treatments as needed.
  5. Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as necessary.
  6. Communicate with patients and their families to explain diagnoses, treatments, and prognosis.
  7. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families during their hospital stay.
  8. Document all patient interactions, treatments, and progress in medical records.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care.
  10. Stay current with advances in pediatric critical care through continuing education and professional development.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to pediatric critical care.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  14. Serve as a mentor and resource for other healthcare professionals, including residents and medical students.
  15. Attend and participate in departmental meetings, conferences, and committees as required.

Job Qualifications
  • Board Certification In Pediatric Critical Care Medicine: The Candidate Must Be Board Certified In Pediatric Critical Care Medicine By The American Board Of Pediatrics Or Equivalent Certification.

  • Medical Degree From An Accredited School: The Candidate Must Have A Medical Degree From An Accredited Medical School And Have Completed A Residency In Pediatrics.

  • Fellowship In Pediatric Critical Care: The Candidate Must Have Completed A Fellowship In Pediatric Critical Care Medicine From An Accredited Institution.

  • Experience In A Level I Pediatric Trauma Center: Musc Health Is A Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Therefore The Candidate Should Have Experience Working In A Similar Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With A Multidisciplinary Team And Communicate With Patients And Their Families.
