Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Informatics Analyst to join our dynamic team at MUSC Health.   1. Work closely with clinicians, IT professionals, and other stakeholders to support and enhance the use of electronic health records and other clinical systems.
  2. Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and opportunities for improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
  3. Develop and maintain data reports and dashboards to provide insights and inform decision-making.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement clinical workflows and processes.
  5. Conduct user training and provide ongoing support to ensure effective use of clinical systems.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in clinical informatics to drive innovation and recommend improvements.
  7. Identify and troubleshoot system issues, and escalate to appropriate parties for resolution.
  8. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards related to clinical informatics.
  9. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the clinical informatics program.
  11. Maintain accurate documentation and records of system configurations, changes, and updates.
  12. Act as a liaison between clinical and IT teams to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  13. Continuously evaluate and recommend process improvements to optimize the use of clinical systems.
  14. Mentor and train junior clinical informatics team members.
  15. Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Informatics Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Is Typically Required For A Clinical Informatics Analyst Position At Musc Health. This Provides A Foundation In Both Healthcare And Technology, Which Are Essential For This Role.

  • Experience With Electronic Health Records (Ehrs): Musc Health Relies Heavily On Electronic Health Records To Store And Manage Patient Data. Therefore, Candidates For A Clinical Informatics Analyst Position Should Have Experience Working With Ehr Systems, Such As Epic, And Be Familiar With Their Structure And Functionality.

  • Knowledge Of Clinical Workflows And Processes: In Order To Effectively Analyze And Improve Clinical Workflows, A Clinical Informatics Analyst Must Have A Deep Understanding Of How Healthcare Processes And Systems Operate. This Includes Knowledge Of Clinical Terminology, Coding, And Regulations.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: Clinical Informatics Analysts At Musc Health Are Responsible For Identifying And Resolving Issues Related To Healthcare Data And Technology. Therefore, Candidates Must Possess Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Effectively Troubleshoot And Find Solutions.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Abilities: As A Clinical Informatics Analyst, You Will Work Closely With Various Healthcare Professionals, Including Doctors, Nurses, And It Staff. Therefore, Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Communicate Technical Information To Non-Technical Individuals And Work Well In A Team Environment.
