Job Description

MUSC Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Tech II to join our Labor and Delivery team.   1. Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies for labor and delivery procedures.
  2. Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgeries by passing instruments and supplies as needed.
  3. Monitor and anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient procedure.
  4. Follow strict sterile techniques to prevent infection and maintain a safe surgical environment.
  5. Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and their families to provide exceptional care and support.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  7. Continuously update and expand knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation to stay current in the field.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines and standards.
  9. Maintain accurate surgical records and documentation.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Certified Surgical Tech In A Labor And Delivery Setting.

  • Current Certification As A Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Through The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).

  • Knowledge Of Obstetric And Gynecological Procedures, Including Cesarean Sections, Tubal Ligations, And Hysterectomies.

  • Familiarity With Specialized Equipment And Instruments Used In Labor And Delivery Surgeries.
