- Assist in a variety of surgical procedures, with a specific focus on women's health.
- Ensure proper set up and maintenance of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields and supplies.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist with tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of procedures and patient information.
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the operating room.

Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technology Program: A Certified Surgical Tech I At Musc Health Must Have Completed A Program In Surgical Technology From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Individual Has Received The Necessary Training And Education To Perform Their Duties Effectively.
Certification From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa): Musc Health Requires All Certified Surgical Tech I Applicants To Hold A Current Certification From The Nbstsa. This Certification Ensures That The Individual Has Passed A Comprehensive Exam And Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Work As A Surgical Tech.
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: A Certified Surgical Tech I At Musc Health Is Expected To Have A Thorough Understanding Of Surgical Procedures And The Equipment Used In The Operating Room. This Includes Knowledge Of Sterile Technique, Surgical Instruments, And Equipment Maintenance.
Experience In A Women's Center Setting: Musc Health Prefers Candidates With Previous Experience Working In A Women's Center Environment. This Experience Allows The Individual To Adapt Quickly To The Specific Needs And Procedures Of This Specialized Area.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working As A Surgical Tech Requires Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills. A Certified Surgical Tech I At Musc Health Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Other Members Of The Surgical Team And Work Collaboratively To Ensure The Best Possible Patient Outcomes.
