- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
- Assist with transferring and positioning patients to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive and caring environment.
- Observe and report any changes in patients' physical or mental conditions to the nursing staff.
- Assist with feeding and maintaining proper nutrition for patients as directed by healthcare team.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of patients' rooms and common areas.
- Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
- Attend and participate in team meetings, trainings, and educational opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with patients, families, and coworkers.
- Adhere to MUSC Health's policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations and code of conduct.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the unit manager or nursing staff.
Active Certification: The Applicant Must Have A Valid Certified Nurse Assistant (Cna) Certification From An Accredited Program.
Previous Experience: Prior Experience As A Cna In A Medical Progressive Mobility Unit Is Preferred. Candidates With Experience In Other Medical Units Or Facilities May Also Be Considered.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Especially As It Pertains To Progressive Mobility And Rehabilitation.
Physical Stamina: This Position Requires Frequent Lifting And Moving Of Patients, As Well As Standing For Extended Periods Of Time. The Candidate Must Be Physically Able To Meet These Demands.
Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial In A Healthcare Setting. The Candidate Should Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Compassionately With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
