  1. Conduct dialysis treatments and monitor patients' vital signs and overall well-being.
  2. Ensure proper setup and maintenance of dialysis equipment.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the medical team.
  4. Educate patients and their families on proper self-care techniques for managing kidney disease.
  5. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  6. Document and maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress.
  7. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  8. Participate in continuous education and training programs to maintain certification and stay updated on advancements in dialysis technology.
  9. Assist with the coordination of patient transportation to and from dialysis appointments.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide compassionate and high-quality care.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  12. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  13. Attend team meetings and contribute valuable insights and suggestions for improving patient care.
  14. Continuously assess and report any changes in patients' condition to the medical team.
  15. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the dialysis process.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Certified Dialysis Technician At Musc Health Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Understanding Required For The Job.

  • Certified Hemodialysis Technician (Cht) Certification: Musc Health Requires All Its Dialysis Technicians To Be Certified Through The National Nephrology Certification Organization (Nnco) As A Certified Hemodialysis Technician (Cht). This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Perform Dialysis Procedures Effectively.

  • Previous Experience In Dialysis: Candidates With Previous Experience In Dialysis Will Be Given Preference For The Certified Dialysis Technician Position At Musc Health. This Includes Experience In Preparing And Operating Dialysis Machines, Monitoring Patients During Treatment, And Handling Emergencies.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Equipment: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Equipment Used In Dialysis Treatment Is Essential For A Certified Dialysis Technician At Musc Health. This Includes Knowledge Of Different Types Of Dialysis Machines, Water Treatment Systems, And Medical Procedures Used In Dialysis.

  • Interpersonal Skills And Ability To Work In A Team: Musc Health Values Candidates Who Have Strong Interpersonal Skills And The Ability To Work Well In A Team. As A Certified Dialysis Technician, You Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Doctors, And Other Healthcare Professionals, And The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Work Collaboratively Is Crucial For Success In This Role.
