  5. Assist with athletic event coverage: MUSC Health hosts a variety of athletic events throughout the year, and the Certified Athletic Trainer will be responsible for providing medical coverage and support during these events. This may include taping, first aid, and emergency care.
  6. Maintain accurate patient records: It is essential for the Certified Athletic Trainer to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. This includes documenting evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and other important information.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers: The Certified Athletic Trainer will need to communicate effectively with patients and their caregivers, including parents, coaches, and other healthcare professionals. This involves providing clear and thorough explanations of injuries, treatment plans, and progress updates.
  8. Adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines: The Certified Athletic Trainer is expected to adhere to all professional standards and ethical guidelines set forth by MUSC Health and the National Athletic Trainers' Association

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or Related Field: A Strong Foundation In The Principles And Practices Of Athletic Training Is Essential For A Certified Athletic Trainer At Musc Health. A Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or A Related Field Demonstrates A Comprehensive Understanding Of The Field And Prepares Individuals For The Demands Of The Job.

  • Certification By The Board Of Certification (Boc): The Boc Is The National Credentialing Agency For Athletic Trainers. Certification By The Boc Is Required For All Athletic Trainers At Musc Health, Ensuring That They Have Met The Highest Standards Of Education, Knowledge, And Skills In The Field Of Athletic Training.

  • State Licensure: In Addition To Boc Certification, All Certified Athletic Trainers At Musc Health Must Hold A Current State License. This Ensures That They Are Practicing Within The Scope Of Their Training And Are Up-To-Date With State Regulations And Standards.

  • Experience Working With Athletes: Musc Health Is A Leading Healthcare Provider For Athletes And Sports Teams, So Experience Working With Athletes Is A Crucial Qualification For A Certified Athletic Trainer. This Includes Experience In Injury Prevention, Evaluation, Treatment, And Rehabilitation In A Variety Of Sports And Athletic Settings.
