Armed Safety and Security Officer

MUSC Health is seeking an experienced, dedicated Armed Safety and Security Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safety and security of our facility and its occupants. The Armed Safety and Security Officer must have strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, and must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in all situations. This individual will be required to maintain a high degree of alertness and vigilance at all times. The ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment is essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and patrol the MUSC Health facility to ensure safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff.
2. Respond to security concerns and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
3. Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients, and visitors.
4. Maintain a high degree of alertness and vigilance at all times.
5. Utilize proper safety and security protocols for the facility.
6. Report suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
7. Act as a liaison between MUSC Health and local law enforcement.
8. Investigate and document all security incidents and complaints.
9. Operate security systems, including alarms, CCTV, and access control.
10. Participate in training activities and drills to maintain safety and security protocols.
