1. Provide advanced nursing care to patients in the Women's Surgical Services department at MUSC Health.
2. Collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
3. Perform comprehensive physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as needed.
4. Educate patients on their conditions and treatment options, and provide counseling on preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices.
5. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
6. Assist with surgical procedures and post-operative care, including wound care and management of drains and catheters.
7. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
8. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with MUSC Health policies and procedures.
9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
10. Stay updated on the latest advancements in women's health and surgical services, and integrate new knowledge into practice.
11. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
12. Provide support and guidance to nursing staff and other team members.
13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help maintain standards of care.
14. Act as a patient advocate and address any patient concerns or complaints promptly.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Women's Surgical Services team leader or department head.
