  1. Provide comprehensive care to adolescent patients ages 12-18.
  2. Conduct thorough medical evaluations and assessments for adolescent patients.
  3. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for adolescent patients.
  4. Monitor and track the progress of adolescent patients and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic care for adolescent patients.
  6. Communicate effectively and compassionately with adolescent patients and their families to address their concerns and educate them on health issues.
  7. Keep accurate and detailed medical records for adolescent patients.
  8. Stay current with advancements and updates in the field of adolescent medicine.
  9. Adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines in patient care.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of patient care at MUSC Health.
  11. Act as a resource and mentor for other healthcare professionals in the field of adolescent medicine.
  12. Provide support and guidance to families of adolescent patients.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, colleagues, and staff.
  14. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  15. Continuously strive to enhance the health and well-being of adolescent patients.

Job Qualifications

  • Medical Degree From An Accredited University: A Qualified Adolescent Pediatrician At Musc Health Must Possess A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From A Reputable Medical School.

  • Board Certification In Pediatrics: The Candidate Must Be Board-Certified In Pediatrics By The American Board Of Pediatrics (Abp) Or The American Osteopathic Board Of Pediatrics (Aobp).

  • Fellowship Training In Adolescent Medicine: Musc Health Prefers Candidates Who Have Completed A Fellowship Program In Adolescent Medicine, Which Provides Specialized Training In Caring For Patients Between The Ages Of 11 And 21.

  • Active State Medical License: The Candidate Must Hold A Valid And Unrestricted License To Practice Medicine In The State Of South Carolina, Where Musc Health Is Located.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Adolescent Pediatrician At Musc Health, The Candidate Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Must Also Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills To Establish A Good Rapport With Adolescent Patients.
