This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a combination of strong leadership skills, organizational acumen, and a passion for education.To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing GME programs, possess a master's degree in healthcare administration or a related field, and have a thorough understanding of ACGME accreditation requirements.   1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the graduate medical education programs at MUSC Health, including residency and fellowship programs.
  2. Ensure compliance with all accreditation standards set by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of GME programs.
  4. Foster a supportive learning environment for residents and fellows, promoting excellence in education and patient care.
  5. Collaborate with program directors, faculty, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain high-quality educational programs.
  6. Provide guidance and support to program directors and coordinators in all aspects of GME, including recruitment, selection, and evaluation of residents and fellows.
  7. Serve as a liaison between GME programs and other departments within the hospital, as well as external agencies and organizations.
  8. Monitor and manage the budget for GME programs, ensuring financial stability and responsible use of resources.
  9. Conduct regular evaluations and assessments of GME programs to identify areas for improvement and implement strategic initiatives to enhance program effectiveness.
  10. Stay current with all changes and updates in ACGME accreditation requirements and ensure that GME programs are in compliance at all times.
  11. Serve as a mentor and role model for residents and fellows, promoting professionalism, ethical behavior, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
  12. Collaborate with the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) to develop and review policies and procedures related to GME programs.
  13. Represent MUSC Health and its GME programs at national and regional conferences and meetings.
  14. Recruit, train, and supervise GME administrative staff, providing professional development opportunities and fostering a positive work environment.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of MUSC Health, promoting a culture of excellence, diversity, and inclusivity in all aspects of GME programs.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role Within A Healthcare Organization, Preferably In Graduate Medical Education (Gme).

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Gme Regulations, Accreditation Standards, And Best Practices.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Overseeing Gme Programs, Including Budgeting, Curriculum Development, And Resident/Fellow Recruitment And Retention.

  • Strong Communication, Organizational, And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Various Stakeholders Including Faculty, Residents/Fellows, And Hospital Leadership.
