
Utility Aide

As a Utility Aide, you will play a crucial role in supporting our healthcare professionals by ensuring a clean and safe environment for our patients. - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of patient rooms, common areas, and other designated areas within the facility.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and biohazard waste.
- Restock and replenish supplies as needed to ensure an adequate inventory for patient care.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly stored and organized.
- Respond promptly to requests for cleaning and/or maintenance services from healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols in all aspects of job duties.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of patient rooms and other areas as needed.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, and team members.
- Demonstrate a positive and helpful attitude when interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Attend and participate in trainings and meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management team.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Utility Aide At Mount Sinai Health System Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education To Effectively Perform Their Job Duties.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Or Hospitality Setting: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Or Hospitality Setting, Such As A Hospital, Nursing Home, Or Hotel, Is Preferred For A Utility Aide Position At Mount Sinai Health System. This Experience Demonstrates An Understanding Of The Industry And The Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And Demanding Environment.
Ability To Lift And Move Heavy Objects: The Job Of A Utility Aide At Mount Sinai Health System May Require Lifting And Moving Heavy Objects, Such As Equipment, Supplies, And Furniture. Therefore, Candidates Must Possess Physical Strength And The Ability To Safely Lift And Carry Heavy Items.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: A Utility Aide At Mount Sinai Health System Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Team Members And Other Staff To Complete Tasks And Maintain A Clean And Safe Environment. Strong Teamwork Skills Are Also Necessary As The Job May Require Working Closely With Other Team Members.
Knowledge Of Safety And Sanitation Protocols: Candidates For A Utility Aide Position At Mount Sinai Health System Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Safety And Sanitation Protocols, Particularly In A Healthcare Setting.
