  1. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory conditions to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  2. Administer and monitor various respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and chest physiotherapy.
  3. Educate patients and their families on respiratory care procedures and techniques, as well as disease management and prevention.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  5. Monitor and document patients' responses to treatments and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes.
  6. Perform diagnostic tests, such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis, to aid in the diagnosis and management of respiratory conditions.
  7. Provide emergency respiratory care in critical situations, such as during cardiac arrests or respiratory distress.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
  9. Stay up-to-date with advancements in respiratory therapy techniques and equipment, and implement them in practice as appropriate.
  10. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  11. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  12. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during their treatment.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Act as a patient advocate and ensure their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
  15. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote and maintain a positive work environment and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Graduation From An Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program: All Applicants For A Registered Respiratory Therapist Job At Mount Sinai Health System Must Have Completed An Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
