- Provide safe and effective anesthesia care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assess patients' physical and psychological health and determine the appropriate anesthesia plan.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by the physician.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the operating room.
- Educate and inform patients and their families about anesthesia procedures and potential risks.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patients' medical history, anesthesia plans, and post-operative care.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe and sterile environment.
- Stay up-to-date with current anesthesia techniques, medications, and equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices for anesthesia care.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and patients to ensure a positive and collaborative work environment.

Graduation From An Accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program: The Candidate Must Have Completed A Master's Or Doctoral Program In Nurse Anesthesia From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Safe And Effective Anesthesia Care To Patients.
Current Certification As A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (Crna): The Candidate Must Hold A Valid Crna Certification From The National Board Of Certification And Recertification For Nurse Anesthetists (Nbcrna). This Certification Is Required To Practice As A Crna And Must Be Maintained Through Ongoing Education And Recertification.
Active Nursing License In The State Of New York: The Candidate Must Hold A Current And Unrestricted Nursing License From The State Of New York. This License Is Necessary To Practice As A Nurse Anesthetist At Mount Sinai Health System.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Crna: Mount Sinai Health System Requires Candidates To Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience As A Crna In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting. This Experience Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Providing Anesthesia Care And Is Able To Handle Complex Cases.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Crna At Mount Sinai Health System, The Candidate Will Work Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals, Including Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, And Nurses. Therefore, Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For Providing Safe And Efficient Patient Care.
