Moss Adams is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Tax Controversy Manager to join our team and lead our tax controversy efforts. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in taxation and a passion for dispute resolution.To be successful in this role, candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in a tax controversy role and have a CPA, JD, or LLM with an emphasis in taxation. Responsibilities:
- Lead Moss Adams' tax controversy efforts, including dispute resolution and negotiation.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Investigate and research tax issues and prepare relevant documentation.
- Prepare and review tax returns, extensions, and related documents.
- Represent clients before state and federal taxing authorities.
- Analyze current and proposed tax law changes for potential impact to clients.
- Provide training and guidance to internal staff and clients.
- Maintain client relationships through regular communication and follow-up.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure satisfactory resolution of tax disputes.
