Job Description

Moss Adams is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Tax Controversy Manager to join our team and lead our tax controversy efforts. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in taxation and a passion for dispute resolution.To be successful in this role, candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in a tax controversy role and have a CPA, JD, or LLM with an emphasis in taxation. Additional qualifications include excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.If you are an experienced professional looking to join a successful and growing team, we welcome you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Moss Adams' tax controversy efforts, including dispute resolution and negotiation.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  3. Investigate and research tax issues and prepare relevant documentation.
  4. Prepare and review tax returns, extensions, and related documents.
  5. Represent clients before state and federal taxing authorities.
  6. Analyze current and proposed tax law changes for potential impact to clients.
  7. Provide training and guidance to internal staff and clients.
  8. Maintain client relationships through regular communication and follow-up.
  9. Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  10. Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure satisfactory resolution of tax disputes.
