
Tax Controversy Manager

The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of tax laws and regulations, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering quality results.The successful candidate will possess a degree in accounting or a related field, and at least four years of tax controversy experience. Experience with both federal and state tax audits is strongly preferred. Additionally, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and colleagues are a must. Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent service and solutions to clients with knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Research and analyze tax issues, prepare memorandums, and assess the potential impact of proposed solutions.
- Represent clients in tax audits and appeals with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other state and local tax authorities.
- Analyze client's financial records, identify potential areas of controversy, and advise clients on effective strategies to resolve and prevent future disputes.
- Negotiate with tax authorities on behalf of clients to minimize their liabilities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues to ensure the highest level of customer service.
- Stay current on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance with all relevant statutes.
- Prepare and review tax returns to identify potential issues and ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly.
